Whitepaper aims to help shipowners navigate complexity of emissions reductions

Complying with these regulations requires critical and complex operational decisions by shipowners regarding investments in new technology and low- and zero-carbon fuels. Recognising this, marine turbocharger manufacturer Kompressorenbau Bannewitz (KBB) and emissions control specialist Eminox have jointly authored a whitepaper they believe can help shipowners and operators navigate decisions around minimising emissions from internal combustion engines in a net-zero future. Called From turbo to tailpipe – minimising emissions from internal combustion engines in a net zero emissions future, the whitepaper serves as an advisory to any ship operator looking to reduce engine emissions. “The time is now for marine operators and engine manufacturers to accelerate their emissions reduction journey,” said KBB managing director Roman Drozdowski, adding “This whitepaper provides everything they need to know to do that, and we can provide an inhouse solution for all their needs.” Last year, KBB and Eminox collaborated on the KBB-EMx exhaust management solution, combining their expertise in turbocharging and exhaust aftertreatment systems (EATS). The KBB-EMx EATS is designed and manufactured to integrate with new or existing medium-speed engine platforms (1 MW to 10 MW) to deliver high-efficiency exhaust emissions reductions.
