Common options are: Water-use-efficient flushed toilets on a septic system, Composting toilets, and Outhouse and pit latrine. The option you choose will depend on how much water and space you have available, as well as the soil type on your property. Not all soils are suitable for septic systems or pit latrines, so if you’re considering those you will need a soil assessment to make sure they’re a viable option and won’t pollute the local groundwater.
