Toyota's approach of supplying hybrid versions rather than completely electric vehicles is paying off, as seen by the company's stock price.
Toyota Motor unveiled the latest Land Cruiser, an adventure-themed vehicle designed to satisfy consumer demand for rival models such as Stellantis N.V.'s Jeep nameplate and others from Ford's (F) Bronco lineup, as well as similar rugged vehicles from a number of other manufacturers.
Toyota is emphasizing that the new model will be driven by a gas-electric hybrid engine, making it Toyota's 25th model to have "electrification" technology - "more than any other automaker," said David Christ, executive vice president, at the unveiling.
