Through a partnership with Blue Star Services, Matterport increases its environmental commitments to reduce carbon footprint.

BlueStar Services Group, a full-service asset management, reclamation, recycling, and IT asset disposition services provider, and Matterport, Inc. have partnered to provide Matterport customers in North America with a sustainable way to recycle Matterport hardware and accessories that are damaged beyond repair, including the Pro series cameras and Axis. Less than 20% of electronic trash gets recycled, according to the UN. As a zero-landfill business, Blue Star is dedicated to lowering the amount of waste that ends up in landfills by recycling what other businesses no longer accept, reusing any equipment that is still usable, and recycling the remainder.

According to Qadira Harris, Senior Director, Global Responsibility at Matterport, "Matterport's 3D cameras are a core part of our digital twin offering, and we're determined to confront their carbon cost so that we can stay ahead of the curve in a climate-conscious world." "Our partnership with Blue Star Services is a critical first step to achieving this. We're committed to tackling the Scope 3 emissions associated with not only the production and distribution of our products, but also managing end-of-life support."
