More than 750 MW of energy storage projects are currently under development under the ReFeel New Energy platform, which was established early last year within the SUSI's Energy Transition Fund (SETF). Of these, 200 MW are awaiting final authorization and will be prepared to begin construction. Additionally, the company is creating photovoltaic (PV) schemes with a capacity of over 375 MW.
The local ReFeel management team co-owns ReFeel New Energy, a clean energy firm.Given the increasing proportion of intermittent renewable energy generation in the country's power mix, SUSI considers Italy to be a "highly attractive" market for energy storage investments. The Swiss company anticipates growth in the domestic energy storage market as the nation gets ready to reach its 2030 emission reduction targets, which call for the installation of 20 GW of storage capacity over the course of the next six years.
