Solar Glass: Save our Planet
Author: Eugene Plotkin
The idea behind solar glass is simple yet very innovative. Since we need windows in our houses and have to cover them with glasses, why not have them generate energy? Thus, we find ourselves working with solar glass. We're all familiar with solar panels and how they work. Solar glass takes the same idea except that they are not opaque. The glass is transparent but can also capture solar rays to generate energy. That energy is then instantly processed to provide us with electricity. A study by the University of Michigan shows that Michigan has about 5 to 7 billion square meters of usable window space. Fitting solar glasses to these windows can power 40% of US energy needs.
