PMB Technology Bhd, the largest silicon smelter in South-East Asia, the amount of carbon emissions from its plants is predominantly dependant on the source of electric power. PMB Technology is in a strong position as a high proportion of its electricity consumption is from a renewable source – hydroelectricity, said PMB Technology CEO Koon Poh MinThe transition to a net-zero economy will be metal intensive; all of the known technological solutions for this green transition – better buildings, electric vehicles and renewable energy – require vast quantities of raw materials.
