The average tourists at Araku and Lammasingi in India is above 15000 per day in the tourist season from October to Febraury first week. In the remaining months, around 7,000 tourists per day are seen. Not only Araku but also the new tourist attractions such as vanjagi at Paderu, Kothapalli waterfalls, and others in the same district are facing plastic menace tourists. There is no data on the plastic waste generated in the tribal areas, especially in tourist destinations. But authorities say that more than 50% is plastic waste including water sachets, bottles and single use plastic material. Many new private resorts came up in recent times at various tourist spots with no arrangement for waste disposal.
