South Korea, where Julian Quintart, a local Belgian TV celebrity, has lived for the past 19 years, is a nation where consumerism is highly valued and maximized. The 35-year-old, who just turned vegan and became an environmental activist, stated that he thinks this component of Korean culture would disappear since it cannot be sustained.
"While 24-hour services and early morning deliveries are customary in Korea, these cultures will eventually shift since they are unsustainable. When the environment is destroyed, there can be no economic growth, he claimed in an interview with The Korea Herald.
Quintart, who has long attracted notice for his fluid command of the Korean language, is now better recognized for his passion and devotion to the environment and an eco-friendly way of living. Additionally, he serves as an EU climate action goodwill ambassador.
Quintart has been actively working as an environmental activist to increase awareness of the effects of excessive consumption on the environment and to inspire people to live more sustainably. A fundamental shift in how people view consumption and their place in the world is necessary, in his opinion, for South Korea to take the lead in establishing a more sustainable and fair society.
