Exchange traded funds mimic the price movement of certain baskets of stocks, such as the FTSE 100. In the renewable energy sector, there are ETFs that track a number of indices such as: The S&P Global Clean Energy index, which consists of a basket of clean energy stocks from around the world and The Nasdaq Clean Edge Green Energy index, whose 50-plus constituent companies, including Tesla, are publicly traded in the US. While ETFs can be a very easy way to get exposure to these types of companies, it is important to understand what the charges are and exactly what the ETF is tracking before you invest.
