The problem is that 20 billion gallons are needed worldwide for this, but only 20 million gallons will be generated in the United States this year. To establish a SAF hub at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, several businesses, including Delta, Xcel Energy, and EcoLab, launched a cooperation on August 29, 2023."Minnesota turns out to be one of the best places to do this in North America because of the combination of air demand, existing biofuels infrastructure, a strong agricultural economy, and strong research assets," said Frosch.
