How Midsize Companies Gain A Competitive Advantage With Sustainability
The stakes in getting sustainability right are even higher for midsize companies. Now more than ever, they are the first-, second-, or third-tier suppliers of large enterprises that are shifting from traditionally audit-led supply chains to responsible sourcing. In return, business-to-business customers expect them to meet environmental sustainability goals and align those objectives with their unique requirements. According to the SAP Insights study, "Business Reimagined: Sustainability as Strategy for Growth," some midsize companies already feel the pressure to become more sustainable. More than one-third of surveyed organizations believe environmental issues are financially relevant to their outcomes now or within the next five years, while 75% expect them to be a top concern in the next decade.
