Ten electric cars have been delivered to a council as part of their effort to achieve carbon neutrality.Bury Council will be replacing its outdated diesel vans with five additional electric cars by the end of 2023.

The £8.5 million vehicle replacement program of the council includes it, and multiple departments will make use of it."Good for our environment and the air we all breathe" is how Councillor Alan Quinn described the delivery.

According to the authority, the cars will require less maintenance and emit less CO2 for the council.The council selected Be EV, an electric vehicle charging network, to install more than thirty new charging stations, according to a March report by the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
