Hemas FMCG joined forces with Clean Ocean Force for a comprehensive beach cleanup on July 22, 2023, at Crow Island Beach, with the enthusiastic support of its staff, interns from the MAS-Dialog-Hemas Summer Interns Programme, Rotaract Club of Colombo Regent, and Universal College of Lanka. This action was part of Hemas FMCG's ongoing commitment to collecting plastic and combating marine plastic pollution.
The day-long effort resulted in the collection of 260kg of plastic. Volunteers had a great opportunity to learn about environmental preservation and proper plastic disposal during the event. Through community-led conservation, the beach clean-up effort seeks to preserve the coastline's cleanliness. The Group has a number of significant environmental projects planned to ensure the ethical disposal of plastic trash, one of which is this relationship with Clean Ocean Force.
