The company did its homework and discovered that a 100% PCR bottle was the best and most environmentally friendly alternative. The bottles had to perform at a high level in terms of longevity and durability at the same time.
The ultimate result is a bottle design that enables the bottles to be filled several times at more than 300 refill facilities nationally, after which they may be recycled when they reach the end of their useful lives. According to a study by Bio-D, switching to 100% PCR bottles from virgin plastic annually saves 13 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
As a result, it is crucial that our packaging reflects the same mindset, according to Heather Nixon, sustainability manager at Bio-D. "Our customers are naturally very sustainability conscious, so it is vital that our packaging represents the same ethos," she added.
