Arizona snowbowl awarded 2023 green business award

On February 10th, 2023, Arizona Snowbowl was awarded the 2023 Green Business Award cousy of the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce at the 2023 Annual Meeting and Award Luncheon. This award recognizes Arizona Snowbowl as a business which has demonstrated significant commitment to environmentally friendly policies and practices. Arizona Snowbowl has various partnerships which are in place to sustain the environment and create a more green community for all to enjoy. Arizona Snowbowl is currently in partnership with Nackard Pepsi in order to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Mountain Line Bus service to reduce single car trips and the overall carbon footprint in Flagstaff. And lastly, Snowbowl partners with the National Forest Foundation to fund forest restoration projects and assist in forest thinning throughout Northern Arizona. Since the start of the 22/23 winter season, Nackard Pepsi has processed 1300 lbs of aluminum and plastic, equating to about 30,000 empty cans and bottles. Since the start of the fully subsidized Mountain Line Bus partnership in 2015, 82,481 trips have been taken by skiers and snowboarders on the Mountain Line bus from downtown Flagstaff to Arizona Snowbowl. These trips on the bus represent over one million miles that weren’t driven in a single occupancy vehicle and 468 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
