Eat vegan food to help the environment. The results of this survey may add to the growing number of ecologically conscious folks who are already supporting the idea. According to a thorough study that was published in the journal Nature Food, switching to a vegan diet might significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to 75% when compared to a diet high in meat. This large study, conducted by a team of academics from Oxford University, looked at the effects of over 55,000 Britons' eating patterns. This large sample comprised fish eaters, vegetarians, and vegans in addition to "high" meat eaters (more than 100 grams per day) and "low" meat eaters (less than 50 grams per day).

The study, which was based on a review of data from more than 38,000 farms in 119 nations, also took into account variations in food production techniques. "Modelled dietary scenarios often fail to reflect true dietary practice and do not account for variation in the environmental burden of food due to sourcing and production methods," the researchers write.
